Mark J. Johnson – Cybersecurity & IT Executive Mark J. Johnson is an accomplished cybersecurity and IT executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience across U.S. federal, international, and private sector organizations. As Deputy CIO, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) at USAID, he directed a 600-member global IT workforce serving over 100 countries. Under his leadership, USAID earned ten “A” FITARA scores, led government-wide in cloud modernization, and securely integrated AI into enterprise operations. Mark also drove Zero Trust implementation, strengthened supply chain risk management securing $30B in acquisitions, and maintained a spotless breach record over nine years. Previously, he served as Deputy CIO at the Department of Commerce, IT Project Manager at the U.S. International Trade Commission, and held senior roles at AT&T, Bell Atlantic, Velocom, and COMSAT. Mark holds an MBA from The Wharton School, a BA from the University of Virginia, a TS/SCI clearance, and top cybersecurity certifications including CISSP, CISM, and PMP.
